History

The foundation of the Austrian family business Hämmerle & Vogel Embroideries was laid in 1900 with the purchase of a hand embroidery machine by Anton Hämmerle, the great-grandfather of the later founder Heinz Hämmerle in Lustenau.

Anton Hämmerle initially passed on his knowledge and in 1936 his entire venture to his son Albert Hämmerle. With the purchase of one of the first mechanical embroidery machines, Albert Hämmerle helped the company to take another step forward.

As a third-generation owner, his son Heinz Hämmerle finally founded the company Hämmerle und Vogel in 1958 together with his mother Lydia Vogel.

In the following years, the company grew to become one of the most important and successful embroidery companies in the Lake Constance region. Another important milestone in the history of the family business was laid when Markus Hämmerle, the fourth generation son of Heinz Hämmerle, was appointed Partner in 1982. To this day, the Lustenauer family business is successfully run by Markus and Heinz Hämmerle.
